"Building Your Future":

Wolverine Building Group is pleased to have participated with “Building Your Future,” an area wide educational event held at the Van Andel Arena. Local schools attended learning presentations prior to attending a Grand Rapids Griffins hockey game. Wolverine’s learning presentation consisted of a quick session on Construction Safety. Elementary aged children left the presentation with knowledge of Wolverines involvement in area projects, the future availability of a career within the construction field, and the safety steps needed to protect themselves on the jobsite. Students were asked what they thought each safety item was used for and then tried the items on for themselves. Students put on such safety articles as the hard hat, harness, reflective vest, goggles and much more.

"Thank you very much for your help in making the Third Annual Grand Rapids Griffins Youth Foundation's 'Great Skate' a success!"

"I would like to extend sincere thanks to you for your help in making 'Soup's On For All 2005' such a resounding success - event sponsorships really put us' over the top'."

Wolverine Building Group believes that community involvement is vital in facilitating the growth of our local community, which we have vowed to do in our pledge. We also feel that such outreach is important not only to the development of the surrounding community, but to the enhancement of the individuals we employ.

Each year, Wolverine Building Group sponsors several community teams and events, provides monetary donations, and encourages our employees to actively get involved in non-profit organizations, charitable programs and other service projects.

We also host a number of high schools each year for a Career Day. The day is spent explaining to the students what opportunities are available in the construction field from Project Management, Drafting and Engineering to Supervision as well as the Skilled Trade Professions.

Recent Community Involvement

Habitat for Humanity- Recently, Wolverine project managers and superintendents collaborated with the Habitat for Humanity, offering up their construction skills and free labor to construct homes in nearby neighborhoods in Grand Rapids.

DeVos Children's Hospital Foundation- Wolverine hosted an event in the Pepsi Stadium at the Whitecaps Ballpark. The event brought together a variety of groups involved in the Helen DeVos Children Hospital development. Wolverine and Turner project managers, the project’s architects; directors and executives from the Children’s Hospital will all gather to meet several families that are cared for by the Hospital.

The importance of this event is for the entire development team to personally meet the families that will benefit from the new facility. Wolverine wanted to create the opportunity to get away from the busy construction site and see what this project is really about. We are not only constructing an amazing building, but more importantly a Hospital that will help thousands of Michigan Resident families. The families enjoyed the Whitecaps take on the South Ben Silver Hawks while eating all the hotdogs and hamburgers they could handle complementary of Wolverine Building Group.
