The new, four-story Saint Mary’s Hauenstein Center facility encompasses 140,000 square feet and is located on the site of the old Xavier Hall building at 240 Cherry SE on the Saint Mary’s downtown campus.
The Hauenstein Neuroscience Center
combines state-of-the-art critical and acute care for those with
neurologically related diseases. It also features a new emergency/trauma
center with 45 private patient rooms on the main floor. In addition,
the project included the construction of a parking deck adjacent
to the center with enough space for 425 vehicles.
The building was designed to maximize
efficiency and convenience for the users, while minimizing the impact
on the environment. The Hauenstein Center
has received LEED Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building
Council.
